Christ In All Ages

Spiritual Building-Stone No. 199

Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and to the ages.”

Listen what the Prophet of God said about it:

I want to speak on the subject of "The Identified Christ Of All Ages," because the Bible says He's the same yesterday, today and forever, in the identity of Christ in all ages.
Now, He is the Word. He's the Word identified for that age. Now, the trouble with people today, we find them living in the glare of another age, just like Jesus found when He come. He found them living in the glare of the law and ignoring what was to take place in His age (Luke 19:41-44).
You know what's the matter today? What was the matter with the Lutherans? Well, because they were living in the glare of the Lutheran age (Rom. 1:17), when John Wesley found the secret of sanctification (John 17:17-19), they couldn't go, because they were living in the glare of Luther's age.
What happened to the Pentecostals? Why, Wesley was so organized until he was living in the glare of another age; they were, in Wesley's age, when the baptism of the Holy Ghost fell upon the Pentecostals (Acts 2:1-20). See, they were living on what Wesley said: sanctification. It was hard for them to believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the restoration of the gifts. They were living in a glare of another age.
That's what they were doing when Jesus came. Said, "We have Moses."
He said, "If you'd have knowed Moses, you would know Me (Luke 24:27). Moses wrote of Me. Search the Scriptures, for in Them you think you have Eternal Life, and They are They that testify of Me." (John 5:39) That was the Scripture that was supposed to be: God identifying, interpreting His Scripture for that age. And it's always Christ. It's Christ in every age. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. It's always been Christ.
Now, we find our Pentecostal brethren are living in the glare of a Pentecostal age, and they still miss it. They're trying to interpret the Pentecostal age, when we're plumb past that. We're living on up to the rapturing time, for the coming of the end time. But that's the way man does. It's just be that way. We got so much that's 'lotted to each age. The Bible's 'lotted out that way, and that's the way we have to have it. That's the way it has to be. [1]

Justification served its time, in justification under Luther, then it had to become sanctification through Wesley. And sanctification served its time, till it become the baptism of the Holy Ghost. And the baptism of the Holy Ghost served its time; until the Holy Spirit (which, there's only one God) blends into the Church, and the Church into Christ, and it makes Jesus Christ reflected on the earth, what He promised here in the Bible (II Cor. 3:2-3). Might not believe it; I can't make you do that. I'm only responsible for the Word. [2]
But now we come to the head, the capstone. "Grace! Grace!" the capstone cried (Zech. 4:7). Passed from death and creed, into a living Word of the living God. God's only provided plan for His age, His sons in the Word age quickened by the Spirit like a spark that's lit off of something to make it alive; and seated now in heavenly places (in present tense), already alive and subject to every promise in the Word. Then what does that do? You being a part of God's gene, a part of the Word, other men a part of God's Word, seated together, manifest the entire Body of Christ, because there's no leaven among you. No leaven among you, just the Word only, seated in heavenly places (Eph. 2:6), in the door where He put His Name: Christ Jesus. [3]

The unchangeable God with the unchangeable character, and His characteristics remain just the same. He cannot change His characteristic. He cannot do it. Anything is known by its characteristics (Luke 24:28-32).
Remember, you're identified by characteristics, and God is identified by His great characteristics that He cannot change. He said in Malachi 3:6, "I am God and I change not." See? He absolutely doesn't change. His characteristics are the same. Each time He appeared on the earth at the end of an age, He always sent a man and anointed him with the Holy Ghost, Christ. The Holy Ghost is Christ, the anointed, the Logos. And it went out, and it comes to identify the words of that age. The Word of the Lord comes to the prophets (The Bible said so, Amos 3:6-7) and identifies that age. See? He does nothing outside of man.
Now, He can't do it in a group. You can't do it. It just never has been done. He never did use a group, never did. He uses one single person. Israel was saved as a nation (Zechariah 12:10-14; 13:1-9), but you're going to be saved as an individual (Rev. 3:20). One person He deals with. He didn't even have a Moses and Elijah the same time. He couldn't have Elijah and Elisha the same time. He couldn't have John and Jesus the same time. He's always got one, because He gets that one person into His Divine will.
Look at the days of Joseph the prophet, how that Jesus was perfectly identified in Joseph. He was born, loved of his father, hated of his brethren without a cause. He loved his brothers. But they were self-starched Pharisees like, and they had nothing to do with him, and hated him because he saw visions and so forth (Genesis 37:12-35; 41:1-46).
But the very characteristics in him showed that it was Christ. Joseph was a prophet. He was born a prophet for that age. That's exactly right. Now, we find that God displayed His characteristics in Joseph.
Now, when Moses came, he could not have took Noah's message. Neither could've Noah took Moses' message. Neither could Joshua have took any of their message. Isaiah could've not have took another message. Each message is for that age. And with the age that we're living in, when that Word is interpreted, God's speaking that Word out and making the Word for that age live, giving the interpretation of It. That is God in Christ manifesting, because Christ is the Word. And when the Word's made manifest, that is Christ in every age then.
He was in David, when David was rejected from his own people of being king, and went up on the hill, looked back over the Mount of Olives as he was being excommunicated from his own people: went up the hill, looked back over the city and wept (II Sam. 15). Eight hundred years from there the Son of David set on the same hill weeping, because He was rejected in His own city (Matt. 23:37; Luke 19:28-44). [1] Oh, the whole Old Testament it is just the lives portraying Jesus. [4] See, it's Christ in every generation. That was Christ in David.
The Bible said Moses forsook the treasures of Egypt, the pleasures and riches of Egypt, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater treasures (Heb. 11:23-27). And he followed Christ in the wilderness, which was the Pillar of Fire (Exodus 13:21-22;14:24). Well, He was the Logos that went out of God, which was Christ, the Anointed. [1]

And now, we find that in each one of those ages, usually people don't want to believe it, because they are already set in their way. You're turning a corner. You're building a building, and then get to the corner, everybody's running this way; they don't want to turn that corner. But the building goes that way, if the Word says it goes that way. See? There's where we get those junctions of time. That's where it's hard. That's where men has sweated it out. Now, remember, God never changes His way of doing things, always through the Scripture just the same. [5]

Yesterday's, Luther's manna, would not work for Methodist. Methodist manna would not work for Pentecost. Pentecostal manna will not work for today. See what I mean? Every day it come, day by day, fresh, and so has It through the church ages (Exod. 16).
Luther's manna was the message of justification. Wesley's message was the manifestation of sanctification. Pentecostal was the restoration of the gifts. But this is introducing the Headstone, the last day, the Bride Tree, which is contrary to all of it, and yet It's the same Light for the matured. [2]

Elijah, being a man of God, not like Christ, Christ knew all things, 'cause He was God. Elijah was a portion of God. That was Christ in Elijah. And that was the message of the hour. For the Word of the Lord for that hour was with that prophet.
Jesus was the Fullness of all those prophets (Col. 2:9-10). Every one of them only manifested Him; that's all. All the way from Joseph, and thirty pieces of silver, everywhere he portrayed Christ. So did Moses. [6]

Notice now, down through the ages, He’s been gradually letting this out, slowly unfolding the mystery through the prophets and through the types. Now, we can just go on to that… and expressing Himself.
All those things type Him (just in type), but yet the mystery was hid. Them men didn’t know what they were doing. They only knew that they were led by the Spirit to do something. Now, holding it back in the last days for the great revelation – but expressing it. Expressing Himself in Moses, and David, and Joseph, and Elijah and on down through. We could take each one of those prophets and bring their lives out and show it expressed Jesus Christ perfectly, exactly, yet never giving His secret in full, waiting for to make it known in the last days, as He promised, waiting for it to be fully comprehended before He could express it. If He told the whole thing… because the Bible’s written in mysteries; Jesus thanked the Father for it, that It was wrote in mysteries (Matt. 11:25). [7]
Hebrews 13:8, "He's the same yesterday, today, and forever." It's the Word of God always. It was Christ in Noah (Gen. 7:1,5). It was Christ in Moses (Exodus 32:32-33). It's always the Spirit of Christ. And the full manifestation of God's Word was made known through Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God (Heb. 1:1-3). [8]

So get Christ in your heart... Christ and the Holy Spirit's the same thing. Holy Spirit, "Christ" means "the anointed One." And the Holy Spirit is that Anointing, and you are the one that's anointed. See? And it's Christ in you anointing you. See what I mean?
Then you got the right thing. Then He can use you to anything He wants to use you in, 'cause you're in the body and subject to any of those gifts (I Cor. 12:4-30). But see, to have one of the gifts outside of the body, it would do you no good (I Cor. 13:1-3). See? Don't depend on those things. The Holy Spirit is a Being; It's God, God in you, the Person, God, that's lit your whole entire being. You're changed; you're a new creature (II Cor. 5:17). Any little thing that's wrong, He'll tell you that's wrong, then quit; don't do it. "Father, I didn't mean to do that, You forgive me." See? And that's the Holy Spirit. [9]
The word "Christ" means "an anointed one, the anointed one." Then Moses was Christ in his day; he was the anointed one. Jeremiah was Christ in his day with a portion of the Word for that day.
But when Jesus came, He came as the Redeemer Anointed One. And that was both Moses and all that was in Moses, and all the Word, and all the Godhead bodily was in Him (Col. 2:9-10). That's the reason the whole temple veil rent (Matt. 27:45-53) and the mercy seat come in perfect view. He was the Anointed One. [10]

Now, we notice that God begins to make Him a bride for Christ. So the bride must be identified with Him and in Him, because it is part of Him. Now, the bride is part of Him. The Word for that day, the bride becomes part of that Word, for it's Christ. Now, you believe that? We have to be in Christ. In Christ, we have to be of Christ, in Christ, part of Christ. What is a woman? When a man takes a woman, that woman has to be part of him. They're no longer two; they're one. And when God in Christ became one, they were one, 'cause God was the Word, and the Word was made flesh (John 1:1-3,14-18). The flesh and the Word became One. And when the church becomes Christ's bride, she and the Gospels are the same. [11]
