Authority
Spiritual Building-Stone No. 136

St.Matthew 10:1, "And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease."

The Prophet of God said about it:

The outside of you is a one man; the inside of you is another man. So the inside of you is the supernatural; the outside of you is the physical. See? And this being, if you are Spirit-led by God, you became a messenger of God or an angel. God's messenger, God's angel is the very same word; can't separate it: God's messenger or God's angel.

And which has the greatest authority, a angel from heaven or an angel at the pulpit? Which has it? The angel at the pulpit. Paul said, "If an angel from heaven comes and preach any other Gospel to you than this which I've already preached, let him be accursed." (II Cor. 11:4,14-15; Gal. 1:6-10). So the angel anointed with the Holy Spirit and with the Word stands next to God (That's right.) in the heaven, his authority...

"All powers in heaven and earth is given into My hand. Go, and I'll go with you (Matth. 28:18). Whatever you bind on earth, I'll bind in heaven. What you loose on earth, I'll loose in heaven." (Matth. 16:19).

Oh, if the great holy Church only realized its power to do these things. But there's so much doubt and fear and trembling, wondering if it will, "Could it happen?" As long as that exists, the Church can never stand upright. And when every talk of fear is vanished and the Holy Spirit is completely in control of the Church, then all fears are gone, and that Church has the power. See? Why, they have everything that heaven owns behind them. They're ambassadors of the throne. Absolutely. An ambassador of Christ has the authority (II Cor. 5:20), and everything that Christ owns belongs to that ambassador. And He said, "Go ye into all the world; you are My witnesses after the Holy Ghost is come on you." (Acts 1:8). And what is a witness? Is an ambassador, is to come and witness something. The whole powers of heavens is right in your hands. Oh, why do we set, and the church is barren, and we set dormant? Is because that we don't recognize these things.

I'm afraid that the Church doesn't know their authority. I'm afraid that Holy Ghost born men doesn't realize their authority or the authority that God has permitted to His Church. "I'll give unto thee the keys to the Kingdom. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, whatever you loose will be loosed. I give you power over serpents, and over all kinds of diseases, oh, everything, and nothing shall harm you." (Mark 16:17-18). Exercise your faith. Let it loose. Let God have His way. God will grant it to you.

God, the great Spirit, in the beginning before there was a beginning, He was God. And did you know you were in Him then? If you are a Christian now, you was in Him then. And then if that be so, the whole Godhead bodily shaped up in the Person of Jesus Christ (Col. 2:9). And then when Jesus died at the cross, I died with Him (Rom. 6:6; II Tim. 2:11-13), for I was in Him then; for He was the Fulness of the Word manifested, knowing that we would be manifested later. And we was at Calvary with Him. We went in the grave with Him, and we raised with Him in His resurrection, and now we've ascended by His Spirit to the throne of grace, setting together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:4-6), always.

For as the germ of natural life is brought down, germitized from father, to father, to father, to father, so is the Life of Christ germitized. That's the reason God uses Elijah's spirit five different times. What is it? It's a handing down.

Just as your natural life and traits is handed down from the natural breeding of your father, so is the Spirit of God that was predestinated before the foundation of the world. And when the entire Word of God in complete was headed up in a human body called Jesus Christ, in there God made me pay for my sins in Him there. Then He raised me up with Him in the resurrection. And now we are seated with Him with power and authority over every devil (Luke 9:1-2). Oh, if you could only believe what God has given. But if you're not seated there, you don't have it (Col. 1:12-14). And if you're seated there, and don't believe, and are afraid to move, you'll never use it. But if you are seated there, you will use it, for you're ordained to do what you do.

Here Jesus, everything that He said, He just spoke the Word, and it was so (Mark 4:35-41). God vindicated Him to be His Son. "This is My beloved Son, in whom I'm well pleased. Hear ye Him." (Matth. 17:1-8).

Watch Him. (I like this) How bravely, how majestically He stood before His critics. Amen. He said, "Destroy this temple, and I'll pray to the Father, and see what He does about it." " Destroy this temple, and I'll raise it up again." (John 2:19-22). Not: "I hope to; I'm going to try to--I will do it." Why? The Scripture said so. The same Scripture that said He'd raise up His body (John 10:18), give us the authority, the power. Amen. "In My Name they shall cast out devils; they'll speak with new tongues; if they take up serpents or drink deadly things; it won't harm them. If they lay their hands on the sick, they shall recover."

"Why cry unto Me? Speak and go forward." (Exodus 14:15).
Oh, and remember now it was that same He; it was He that said in John 14:12: "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do, shall he do also." Is that right? It was He that said so. It was Jesus in Mark 11:24 that said, "If you say to this mountain (not 'if you pray to this mountain')--if you say to this mountain 'Be moved,' and don't doubt in your heart, but believe that what you said will come to pass, you can have what you've said." Now, if you say it just presumptuously, it won't happen; but if something in you--that you're anointed for the job, and will know that it's the will of God to do it, and will say it, it's got to happen. It was Jesus that said this: "If ye abide in Me and My Words abide in you, ask what you will, and it shall be done to you" (John 15:7).

I have the authority to do it; but I have to wait for orders to do it. See? I have the authority from God to do it, but now, when He gives the orders, she'd go back home well. See? I know that is the truth.

But first, you see, it's all that... No one, even Jesus Himself said, "The Son can do nothing in Himself, but what He seeth the Father do, that doeth the Son likewise." We know that? St. John 5:19. All right. "The Son does nothing in Himself, but what He sees the Father doing, that the Son will do likewise."

Somebody says, "You got power..." There is no power in no man. But we as believers have authority, not power, but authority. We ain't got enough power to do nothing.

Like I said some time ago, a little policeman here in Louisville, standing there. He was littler than I am. Little bitty fellow, his hat was pulled down over his ears, and his uniform about half hanging off of him, he walked out there on the street, the little cap pistol-like on his side, little stick in his hand, and a little whistle. Walked out there with a pair of white gloves on, and them cars (Some of them three hundred and fifty horsepower) whirling by that street like lighting, just zoom, zoom. Well, that poor little fellow couldn't have stopped a runaway pony from his strength, or he hasn't got the power to stop a bicycle. Certainly not. But he walked out in the street, that big badge shining, blowed that whistle, and held up that hand. Brother, three hundred horsepower motors squeaked brakes and everything else. It wasn't the power of the man, it was the authority he had. That's it.
That's the church, It might be a bunch of holy-rollers, so-called, or whatever you want to call it; but it's the authority. It's the authority behind it; that's what does it.

Regardless of conditions, God's law works with His Word. Now, it won't work with your creed; it'll work with the Word. Yeah, it just works with the Word; that's all. Now, regardless of condition.

I don't have any power. You don't have any power. But we got the authority (Amen.), the badge of faith's hanging on the Word, "I believe that It's the Truth." That's what stops. Then you can be persistent.
Little policeman stand out there and blow that little whistle and hold his hand up, I'll tell you, everything's going to stop. It's his authority. It's his authority to believe.

Then if I'm a Christian and been filled with the Spirit, wearing the testimony of Jesus Christ's resurrection, that He's the same yesterday, today, and forever, don't let any devil try to push you around, say, "You don't do this and you don't do that." You do do It. God's give you the...
And that's the church. We have authority, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His promised Word (Hallelujah.), "The things that I do shall you do also; more than this will you do, for I go unto the Father." (John 14:12).

The Roman soldier, the centurion, he was convinced if he could only get Jesus to say the Word. Listen to that soldier, a Roman, Gentile, heathen. He said, "For I'm not worthy that You'd come under my roof. I don't count myself that way." But said, "My son is very sick, and You just speak the word, and my son will live." (Matth. 8:5-13; Luke 7:1-10).

"I'm a man under authority. I say to this man, to this soldier, 'You go here,' and he goes. And I say to this one, 'Come,' and he comes." Why? He was over him. What was he testifying? "Jesus, You're over all diseases. You're over it all. If I can just hear You say the Word, my servant will live. I'm thoroughly convinced." What was it? It was that Roman's faith. He believed it.

And Jesus said, "Go your way; your son lives." Jesus said that was great faith; He didn't find that in Israel. "Just speak the Word."

What was it? Distance made no difference, because God is omnipresent. God is omnipotent. And everywhere God is, omnipotence is there. And God being omnipresent, that makes God everywhere, all over. See, God's just as great in Germany, in Switzerland, and down in Africa right this minute as He is right here. There you are.

And he took out two day's journey. And the next day, 'fore he got home, he met some of his servants coming. And they said, "Thy son liveth."
And the Roman was so thrilled until he said, "What time of day did he start getting better? What part of the day?" He said, "About the seventh hour he begin to amend." And the Roman knew that it was the very time that Jesus said, "Thy son liveth," and he had believed (John 4:46-54).

Omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, infinite, that's God.

And when a man or a woman, I don't care what condition you're in, you've got the authority of God by a promise, because He is rich and promised to do the exceedingly abundantly (Eph. 3:20-21).
